Not jaundiced.

A medical term, specifically as it relates to my last HEENT assessment1, aneritic refers to the absence of jaundice, which is characterized by a yellow discoloration of the skin and eyes due to elevated levels of bilirubin in the blood. (My last serum bilirubin level was 0.3, by the way, which is just in the normal range of 0.3 - 1.2 mg/dL.) Used to denote when a patient's skin and sclera appear normal and healthy in color, without any yellowing, which can be a sign of underlying liver or bile duct diseases. This is one of the (many) words in my recent medical records of which I was unfamiliar and are now in my "to learn" list.
