Back to square one.

I'm homeless again, anyone have a home?

His name was Marcus. He worked for the cable company. The place was beautiful...and his attitude was that of a pimp.

Women worked for him. His way. I can, if asked, do my own dishes, and clean up after myself. My own room was covered with a thin veneer of shed clothing, books and papers, but this was only my way. With him, I was to do the dishes for both of us. His way. With bleach. Three strikes of any infraction, he said, would put me out on the streets again.

I don't know if it was in my best interest or not, but I didn't act afraid. Then he moved in his girlfriend.

Not a good idea, said I.

Why not, said he.

I was given my walking papers the next day.
