The
Broch is a small area in the North East of
Scotland, centering on the coastal town of
Frazerburgh. While the
natives of this area refer to it as the
broch, it is generally used in an insulting fashion from neighbouring areas.
The suggested
origin for the name is the manner in which
inhabitants of this area pronounce the "broch"
suffix.
