Hi.
My name is Dave, and I'm a recovering Catholic.
I was raised Catholic, and went to 8 years of Catholic school, in a small, Midwestern town. I still have scars.
I jokingly describe being raised Catholic as "Being trained to feel guilty about everything, even breathing, because someone else might need the oxygen more than you."
Guilt is a part of me, down to the roots of my spirit I feel guilty for no good reason, for absurd things. I feel guilty for being depressed, because other people have it worse than I do.
I'm slowly recovering, but... I wish it was easier.
