In the manga and anime (Heppoko Jikken Animation) Excel Saga, Menchi is the star of the manga/show's pet dog/emergency food ration. She is voiced in the Japanese version by Koorogi Satomi, and Hilary Haag in the American dub. She performs the ending theme song, with a human translating the barks into Japanese. On the karaoke version of this song, the person singing is supposed to fill in Menchi's barks throughout the song.
