A German word meaning "clutter"
If you have any deskop computer with a mouse, monitor and keyboard, you have three cables to worry about, in addition to power cables for monitor and computer. Add a few more USB devices, headphones, speakers, a router or switch with additional network cables and you have a potential rat's nest of cables under or behind something. No matter how many clips, ties or Velcro straps you use to route and manage these cables, it will be a mess. It seems to be a universa law of computing, and, of course, the German language has a word for it, meaning "cable salad". Heaven preserve you if you have a homelab with multiple servers and appliances, your kabelsalat could be a banquet of clutter.
