An early 70s Boston band: Jonathan Richman (guitar, vocals), Jerry Harrison (guitar and keyboards), who later joined Talking Heads, Ernie
Brooks (bass), and David Robinson (drums), later of The Cars. Their debut was produced by John Cale (Richman was a devout Velvet Underground fan) and yielded such post-VU chestnuts as "Roadrunner" and "Pablo Picasso" (much covered, including by Cale). Richman kept the ML name for subsequent bands.
