Saranga Thakura was an associate of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. He lived under a Bakula tree in Navadvipa during the time of Lord Caitanya. During the day he would gather materials for the worship of his Deities, and in the evenings he would cross the sacred Ganges River to join Lord Caitanya's kirtanas. The great devotee Murari Thakura was his disciple.
