I was born in Alexandria in time to see Buzz Aldrin walk on the Moon. Shortly thereafter, I moved to Washington, DC, which is what many have considered to be the root source of my cynicism.
I went to (in order):
- a Montessory school
- Stoddart Elementary School
- Hardy Middle School
- St. Albans School (please don't hold it against me - I already know that I share this dubious distinction with Rufus Griscom of Nerve and Al Gore of the Democratic Machine)
- Brown University
Then I got married to Mary-Kim Arnold, author of Lust from Eastgate Systems. I got a job at Brown. We had a baby, Zooey, who remains the light of my life. I got a new job at Sony. I recently quit and went to work for Novix Media.
They went out of business. Now I consult and write.
I live in New York and sport tattoos, piercings, and cybernetic attachments. I often have paint on various body parts, and can generally be relied upon to get into an argument on most any subject.
