It's like the
Slashdot Effect, but it hits people instead. Much as the Slashdot Effect overloads data pipes and processors with requests for
data, the E2 Effect overloads people with a
torrent of information and causes them to respond with
everything they know. Symptoms of the E2 Effect include:
- compulsive noding
- inability to get work done
- loss of social skills, fine motor functions, paralysis, and death
The only known cure for the E2 Effect is to sever the patient's
Internet connection. This treatment is known to cause short-term
withdrawal symptoms, but the patient is better off in the long term.
