A book by Henry Rollins put out by his publishing company 2.13.61.
First published in 1988, it's a collection of stories and anecdotes about the violence and horror of living in the late 20th century. The latest printing paired up Pissing in the Gene Pool with the equally dark Art to Choke Hearts, but it's now out-of-print.
Admittedly, the reality Rollins portrays doesn't seem to be much of a reflection of mine; nevertheless I found Pissing in the Gene Pool to be very engaging and compelling. Anyone who likes Henry Rollins (especially his spoken word stuff) will definitely like this too.
