Los Angeles punk band of the mid-
1980s that affected a
Clockwork Orange-type stance and sang songs with titles like "Real Horrorshow". They also did a fun
cover of
One Tin Soldier (The Legend of Billy Jack). The band was plagued by accusations of being
poseurs, perhaps because their album photo looked a bit...well...posed, and they weren't terribly
political as was the fashion for
hardcore bands. Their name appears to be an allusion to the
Sex Pistols' "
God Save The Queen".
I saw them in concert in Las Vegas and thought they were quite good. Their self-titled album was one of the fixtures of my summer-after-high-school playlist.
