If the high point of the week was me getting a
Jew harp, the high point of today was playing the theme to
Bubble Bobble on an old, out-of-tune piano in the back of a coffeehouse and having it recognized by a seemingly non-geek complete stranger, which suddenly makes the time spent transcribing and memorizing the little ditty eminently worthwhile instead of a private whim. Now it's a public whim!
That identification in fact made up for a whole evening's worth of bland female poetry (nothing against female poets, but one can only take so many strained metaphors of body parts; hips, eyes, curves, wrists, breasts, skin, can I go home yet?)
Ran into a whole heckuvalotta people today and ate some very very tasty garlic mashed potatoes.
