Lisa Stansfield (1966) English singer
English vocalist Lisa Stansfield was born on April 11, 1966 in Manchester, United Kingdom, but grew up in Rochdale. She started off as the lead singer of the group the Blue Zone. She featured on Coldcut's People Hold On in 1989.
Her solo career got a flying start with Affection in 1990, deeply influenced by Barry White’s 1970’s disco soul sound. The album reached platinum and earned her a worldwide hit single with All Around the World. A long silence followed her third album So Natural, but in 1997 she returned with a self-titled attempt that never really took off.
