Unless you have a
perfect swing, the flight of your
golf shots will not be perfectly straight.
Idiosyncracies of your swing will cause the
golf ball to have some
sidespin, and as the ball travels through the air, the
Bernoulli effect will cause the ball to
deviate left or right during flight. There are many lefts and rights, but
there's only one straight.
Practice will let you know what your natural shot shape is with different clubs in your bag. Knowing this will help you to shoot lower scores.
Sure, you can fire at the pin from 130 out, and try to hit it as straight as you can, but always take into account your tendancy. Would this tendancy lead to very bad things?
