Pioneered by B.F. Skinner, this approach to psychology treats the mind as a "black box" - the psychologist is not interested in the structure and functions of the psyche, so much as the behavior a subject displays. Especially useful in designing therapy plans where a quick, practical behavior change is desired (behavior mod therapy).
