An 8-part
multi-timbral digital synthesizer with 8-voice
polyphony and a 49-note
keyboard.
The 707 - not to be confused with the
x0x line from
Roland - is basicially a
simplified version of the
DS-8. The
FM engines is similar, but 707 lacks the digital
effects and only has one
oscillator.
Other features are more or less
identical, even the smaller keyboard is
aftertouch sensitive. The 707 is said to be a good
entry level synth, with not much
potential for
professionals.
Juan Atkins has reportedly made use of one, though.
