The
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference,
HCAC, is a
NCAA Division III conference. Founded in
1987 as the
Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference to sponser the men's sports amongst the schools. The conference changed names to the current
HCAC in 1989. 1990 was the first year all the member institutions competed in all the sports the conference sponsered. After a year of planning and debating in 1993 the women's sports of the member institutions also joined.
