The Pink Windmill was the 1980's successor to the Emu's Broadcasting Company childrens TV series from the 1970's. It starred the late Rod Hull, the man who was famous for spending his entire televisual career with one arm rammed up a cloth Emu's arse, and the 'evil' green skinned witch, Grotbags along with her sidekicks, Croc and Robot Redford.
The show was held in the Pink Windmill itself, where Rod would invited hundreds of childrens around was before the entire proceedings were interrupted by Grotbags attempts to steal Emu, which were always ultimately foiled.
One of the few lasting memories I have of the programme, and it's one that many others my age will share, was the response to anybody knocking on the door of the windmill.
Altogether now!
