arts organization in
Chicago's
Wicker Park/
Bucktown neighborhoods, dedicated to local talent. Started in
1990 with an annual
arts festival held toward the end of
summer. Since last winter, there is also an annual
winter exhibition as well as a permanent
gallery space.
Sometimes referred to derisively as "Around the Caucasian" by longtime and former residents of the area, now priced out, who see in it a vanguard and symbol of the gentrification that has "improved" the area so much that they can barely (if at all) afford to stay there.
