Chordate, endothermic, breathes oxygen, bipedal ape with too much cerebrum for his own good. I, like the other 7,000,000,000 or so members of my species, am the culmination of a long line of evolutionary bad-ass muthafuckas, starting with some particularly bad-ass eukaryotic blob in some particularly rough stretch of primordial sea, and ending with a featherless biped drunk off red wine and the Serenity Prayer, getting a tan by his computer monitor. Somehow, I wonder if our notions of 'progress' are intrinsically flawed. I'm an anthropology undergrad at the University of South Florida in Tampa, starting up the home stretch to my B.A. (less than one year!) and a nomination in the Peace Corps, pending my medical clearance. I grew up in the swamps of Central Florida, and have spent varying amounts of time in California, Texas, Kansas and Sweden. You can catch me on Facebook as Steven A. Williams in the Tampa Bay or USF network. I'm also online, once in a great while, on AIM, username ignisglaciesque. |
