Here's some tips to get on the list.

-Find out the club's fax number, make up some official company letterhead having something to do with the entertainment industry, doesn't matter how spurious, and fax in a request.

-Find the club's website. Most places have website promotions, where you fill out your name, consign yourself to spam from the club (sometimes useful!)

-Find local entertainment oriented websites, (examples being Miami's urbanrave.com and www.cooljunkie.com. They usually have some sort of hookup with the local places.

-Get to know someone who works there. Find out if there's any way to help them out somehow. Maybe your favorite bartender needs computer assistance. Have your girlfriend hit on the doorman...

I'm a relative shmuck, and I managed to make my nights out cheap by using the methods above..:)
