A prevalent type on campuses of some small, liberal arts colleges. They are usually gentle and peace loving personages who like Phish, tie dyed clothing, hallucinogens, solar energy, and saving the wales.

It takes a while, but eventually you figure out that their parents (or grandparents) invented the silicon chip (or something equally lucrative) and put the proceeds in trust for their hippie children.

What the older hippies who used to tour with the Grateful Dead call the younger kids who tour with Widespread Panic or String Cheese Incident, I guess because those kids are trying to create a similar culture to that of the Deadheads but do it in Range Rovers and Ford Explorers rather than in old VW busses.
