I was sitting in my
Meteorology Lab today looking over my lab before class started. This guy, an older
non-traditional student in the class, said he had
an announcement. He asked if anybody was staying in Lawrence for
Thanksgiving and had nowhere to go. For a split second this didn't register with the rest of the class, but then we all realized he was making
an invitation. A man, who only knows us because we all meet together twice a week for Meteorology Lab, was asking us into his home in case we had no where to go. Everyone was touched very deeply by this simple sentiment. All we could think was "That's so awesome." Very few people want to spend their Thanksgiving alone eating a
Banquet frozen
turkey dinner. It sounds
cheesy, but
it warmed my heart to think that there is some
goodness left in this world.
