Pastoral Religion

Any religion in which there is a theory of death followed by rebirth. These pastoral religions started in Farming communities where praying for good weather, prompt seasonal change, and a dearth of disasters was all you could do to increase your chances of a good harvest. Christianity is a pastoral religion in that it takes a great theme of rebirth with the Death and resurrection of Christ. Probaly why the Shroud of Turin is so holy.
