Krating Daeng, the precursor for Red Bull, was originally created in Thailand by a company called TC Pharmaceutical. The original Krating Daeng energy drink is still available today, probably somewhere in your local Chinatown. The drink is full of caffeine & sugar, which made it highly popular with Thai workers, such as Taxi & Truck drivers, to help them deal with late night shifts. The drink is un-carbonated, as opposed to Red Bull, and is stronger tasting and much sweeter, almost like cough syrup. Opinions on the beverage differ, but I take a bus and a train to Fortitude Valley just to get my fix. Yeah, I'm hardcore. I drink Energy drinks.
